Last week, the partners of the Erasmus+ INSPIRE project gathered in Elefsina, Greece 🇬🇷 for a productive Transnational Project Meeting,
hosted by the Welding Greek Institute
(WGI).
Over two intense days, we rolled up our sleeves (and even slid into a pipeline:
🔹Review progress made over the last 6 months.
🔹Identify and unlock bottlenecks.
🔹Strategically plan for the road ahead.
The highlight from the Transnational Project Meeting?
🔹We got hands-on with cutting-edge AR equipment that’s set to revolutionise how welding inspectors are
trained — think thermal vision, voice-activated workflows, and hands-free digital instructions.
Definitely not typical classroom gear!
What’s next for INSPIRE?
🔹Co-designing new competence units tailored to the inspection of hydrogen pipelines, and defining the structure of immersive
AR-based training to ensure welding inspectors are equipped for the demands of a greener, safer energy infrastructure.
As the photo above show:
🔹We explored the tunnel vision of innovation.
🔹We put AR devices to the test — from screen to real-world.
🔹And we stood united under a mural of craftsmanship, reminding us that welding has always been about building connections —
and so is INSPIRE.

🔹Stay tuned – in the coming weeks, we’ll be launching the conclusions and recommendations
from the Focus Group workshop done with Industry and Education.
